Savonia University of Applied Sciences 5G test network

Savonia’s upcoming test network is based on commercial base stations and network management systems. Savonia provides a state-of-the-art expertise and test platform for research, trials and demonstrations for all partners. Upcoming test network offers abilities for following technologies.

Wideband mmW 5G NR test network for n258 and n257 bands:

• Outdoor coverage for selected areas at Savilahti campus area.
• Indoor coverage for several Savonia R&D&I laboratories.
• MEC functionality for low latency and high bandwidth efficiency applications with local data ownership.

Savonia’s 5G test network will use FDD-LTE B7 band as an anchor for NSA 5G. Test network will be updated to SA version during 2021.
